Free classified submission is tempting. I put it on the same level as free directory submission. If your budget is really limited, this is a quick and easy way to at least get some backlinks and get your site found by the search engines.
The one thing to remember is that these sites have lost a lot of their PageRank in the last year and won’t give you the kind of boost they once did.
So the question still begs itself, should you bother with free classified submission and free directory submission? That question is why I wrote this free classified post. Here’s what I think as a professional SEO.
Should you bother with free classified submission?
If you have a really limited budget and don’t have the time and money for things like article marketing and blog marketing, then I say it’s a good first move. Do as many of them as you can.
One of the things I learned about these free classifieds is that not all of them will allow free classifieds by businesses. For instance USfreeads.com will only allow personal or non-business free classified submissions. If you are a business or are selling something business related, you have to pay for your ad. However, the classified ad submission tools I tested both tried to submit to them.
At any rate, I’m not saying that paying is a bad thing but there are plenty of free classified submission sites you can exhaust before you start paying to place an ad.
Here’s an example of free online classified sites you can try manually just to see what they are like:
I’ve tested two free classified post software packages…I’ve tested two different classified ad submission software packages. One was Free Ad Traffic 1.0 and the other was The Classified Connection. Both of them claim to submit your ad to thousands of classified ad sites.
The actual experience is that they can actually only submit to about two thirds of them. For whatever reason, they seem to fail quite a bit. My guess is that it has to do with automation. Automation is a good thing but it doesn’t necessarily work perfectly.
At any rate, neither of them is going to get you to all 80,000 (so they claim) classified ad sites. However, two-thirds of them is still a huge number.
The big difference between these free advertising classified submitters…Here is the big difference between the two. each of them has an internal list of the classified ad sites. Classified Connection starts you out with a wizard that guides you through the process of setting up a profile and an ad and a username and password that can be placed on each site. Once you’ve gone through the wizard, it automatically goes through its list and signs you up and places your ad.
Free Ad Traffic 1.0, on the other hand, also lets you set up your ad ahead of time. However, it has a pop-up window that sends you to each site to sign up manually before it can send them your ad. I can’t even tell you how annoying and time consuming that is. It definitely makes you wonder what the benefit of the software is (aside from the pre-programmed in free classified submission sites).
The best free classified submitter…As far as I’m concerned, Classified Connection is the hands down winner. They each have a free or demo version you can check out for yourself if you want to download them both and run your own comparison. I believe you’ll come to the same conclusion I did.
